Your first store
From first product to first order
Build and preview one store for free. Work through these steps, then choose a plan when you are ready to welcome customers.
Gather these first
- A store name and a short description of what you sell
- Product photos, prices, stock quantities, and any sizes or colors
- The places you can deliver to and your shipping and returns policies
Step 1
Create your workspace and first store
Start with one store. Give it a name you recognize and keep your initial catalog focused so you can check every part of the buying journey before expanding.
- Use an email address you can access for account messages.
- Choose the store you are working on before adding products or changing settings.
Step 2
Add a small, complete product collection
In Products, prepare the items you can sell and fulfill confidently. Use a separate variant for each combination a shopper can buy, such as a T-shirt in Medium / Blue.
- Add clear photos, titles, descriptions, prices, and stock.
- Check each variant's SKU, options, price, and availability.
- Group related products into collections and check their visibility in the storefront.
Step 3
Choose a theme and make it yours
Open the theme library, choose a starting design, and use the storefront editor to arrange your pages. Replace sample text and imagery with your own content before publishing.
- Make the homepage explain what you sell and who it is for.
- Preview the homepage, collection, product, cart, and checkout pages on a phone.
- Add contact, shipping, and returns information where shoppers can find it.
Step 4
Set up how you get paid and deliver orders
In Settings → Payments, complete the setup for your supported payment provider. Stripe requires an eligible connected account with charges enabled. If you offer cash on delivery, decide how payment collection will be recorded.
- Review your provider's supported countries, payment methods, and processing fees.
- Set shipping options and rates for the regions you serve.
- Check currency, taxes, and product-specific requirements for your business.
Step 5
Prepare your store address
Connect your domain from the store's domain settings when you are ready to publish. Follow the DNS records shown in the workspace and allow time for verification and a secure connection.
- Keep a record of the current DNS settings before changing them.
- Check that the final store address loads securely on desktop and mobile.
- Keep email records intact if you use the same domain for email.
Step 6
Test a complete order
Use your payment provider's supported test process. A good-looking preview does not confirm that payment, shipping, order records, and customer messages all work together.
- Choose a real product variant, add it to the cart, and check the total.
- Test successful and unsuccessful payment paths and check the order in the workspace.
- Confirm shipping, order messages, stock changes, and your fulfillment routine.
- Check cash-on-delivery collection separately if you offer it.
Step 7
Choose a plan and publish when ready
The business account owner manages billing in Settings → Plan. The first eligible subscription includes a 14-day trial. A payment method is required, and the selected subscription is charged after the trial unless canceled.
- Choose the plan and monthly or yearly billing cadence before checkout.
- Check the subscription amount and provider fees before confirming.
- Publish the store, visit the public address, and complete a final order check.
Ready to open?
Use this checklist for your final review before sending customers to the store.
- No sample products, placeholder copy, or broken navigation
- Product prices, options, stock, shipping, and totals checked
- Payment and order confirmation tested end to end
- Contact details, shipping, returns, and required policies published
- Domain and secure connection verified
- Someone assigned to check and fulfill incoming orders
